Experienced Non-Motor Lawyer Job Role
Job description:
The role in question will be to run a caseload of primarily non-motor claims (EL, PL, Highways Act, Product liability, etc…). There will be some higher value RTA work, but RTA experience is not a key requirement of the role. The cases will vary in value and will range from lower-end Fast Track up to some claims of solid Multi-track value. The caseload will be primarily comprised of new instructions, but there will be some transferred existing files. There will be basic administrative assistance, but the role will be largely self-supported. Supervision will be provided, but the candidate will be expected to largely self-sufficient for routine matters.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be a Solicitor or Legal Executive. Candidates who are not qualified, but are of equivalent experience, will be considered
- Have approximately 4 – 6 years’ experience in working as a lawyer running a primarily non-motor caseload
- Be able to evidence experience of working to targets
- Have a broad and demonstrable range of experience of non-motor work
- Want to take an active part in a non-motor team structure
- Have a positive approach to receiving supervision, but be able to conduct routine files without the need for day-to-day supervision
- Be willing to assist with training, and potentially lower-level supervision/assistance with less experienced members of the wider department
The role is an in-office position. There is a generous bonus structure in place based on fee income.
